Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) Overseas

Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), a federal agency charged with developing the oil and gas industry in the country. Applications are invited from qualified applicants for MSc and PhD scholarships abroad to specific programs in selected institutions under the PTDF Overseas Scholarship Program for the 2023/2024 academic session.

Description

  • The program has been developed to provide applicants with the opportunity to benefit from the wide range of knowledge resources and facilities offered by world-class institutions around the world. Under this condition Applicants are invited to apply through PTDF for specific programs at partner institutions.
  • This prize includes flight ticket arrangements. Payment of health insurance Payment of tuition and bench fees (if applicable) and provision of allowances to meet housing and living expenses.

Interested applicants should know the following:

  • For the 2023/2024 awards, applications are limited to PTDF partner universities in the UK, Germany, France and Malaysia which they feel can maintain the high standards of their scholarships. and the project objectives will best serve them.

Selection process, criteria and requirements

  • PTDF scholarships are highly competitive. And only outstanding applicants are selected across the board.
  • according to the submitted properties Top applicants For each category from each state will be invited for an interview. A selection committee will be established to evaluate applications using the following criteria:
    • Academic qualifications based on evidence of degree quality Complete transcript and other professional qualifications obtained, relevant publications that the applicant will refer to. (PhD applicants only)
    • Membership in professional organizations
    • Viability of the study/research plan

Applicants with a master’s degree level:

  • Minimum qualifications of Second Class Upper (2.1) at first level or Second Class Lower (2.2) with relevant industry experience.
  • Must have completed the National Youth Service Commission (NYSC). 3. Must have computer knowledge.
  • There are 5 O/level credits including English and Mathematics.
  • Statement of Purpose (maximum 500 words) stating the rationale for the proposed study. Industry Relevance and expected impacts on national development
  • Applicants must have a National Identification Number (NIN) and must verify this number. (There is a fee for the NIMC examination) before applying for a scholarship.

Applicants with a Ph.D.:

  • Must have completed mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC).
  • Must have computer knowledge
  • Minimum of a lower second class (2.2) in first level and a good second level certificate.
  • A research proposal related to the oil and gas industry (no more than 5 pages) including topic, introduction, objectives, methods, and data collection format.
  • All teachers must provide a letter from the Vice-Chancellor confirming that they have not received any other scholarship.
  • Applicants must have a National Identification Number (NIN) and must verify this number. (There is a fee for the NIMC examination) before applying for a scholarship.

Required documents
Applicants should scan copies of the following documents and attach them to the online application form:

  • First degree certificate or statement of academic results
  • NYSC Discharge Certificate
  • WAEC/GCE/SSCE/NECO results and PIN on the application form so that the PTDF can view the O’level results on the relevant website.
  • Latest passport photo
  • Local government identification document
  • Master’s degree certificate (PhD applicants only)
  • Evidence of professional association membership

Please also note the following:

  • This scholarship is for the academic session 2023/2024.
  • This scholarship is limited to PTDF partner universities in PTDF partner schools.
  • Scholarships will be awarded for studies related to PTDF’S only.
