Nigeria Defense Academy (NDA) – This is to inform the general public that the online application for admission to the 76 regular program of the Nigeria Defense Academy (NDA), Kaduna is accepting applications for admission into NDA on an ongoing basis. Open to both male and female Nigerians.

Management requirements

  • Requirements for various undergraduate programs Details are available on the NDA website/application portal. All other information related to degree courses, qualifications and screening test centers is available on the NDA website/application portal.
  • Note: A working knowledge of French, Arabic or Madarin will be an additional advantage for applicants.

Screening of test conditions

  • Only applicants who meet the admission requirements and must have a UTME score of 180 for Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and Science. While 210 marks for Engineering courses will be able to print the Screening Admit Card and participate in the NDA Screening Test at the Optional Centre.

Screening of test dates and requirements

  • The screening test will be conducted as phase one of the post-UTME screening and is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 24, 2024. Therefore, all eligible applicants are required to bring an acknowledgment form. The screening test admission ticket, JAMB result slip, and two (2) postcard-sized (3.5 x 5 inches) photographs to the screening test center are included.
  • Photos should only show from the chest up. and should include the applicant’s name, examination number, state, examination center, course of study. and signature on the back
  • Only applicants who are successful in the NDA screening test will be invited to join the Army Selection Board (Phase 2 of the screening test), after which a list of admitted applicants will be published.

Nature and duration of training

  • Applicants admitted to the NDA for the regular course are required to complete military and academic training as a cadet for a period of 5 years upon successful completion.
    Upon graduation Graduates will receive an honors degree in the main field of study (BSc, BEng, BA). They will equally receive a Presidential Commission in the Nigerian Army.


  • All regular course cadets will train in NDA and the administrative and logistics costs will be borne by the Nigerian government.

Application process
Applicants should log in to the application portal. Select “Buy Access Code” and fill in the details to pay for the subscription via REMITA after receiving the order code and REMITA retrieval reference code (RRR) for the first time in the sum of N3, 500.00 only. Please note that only payments will be accepted for RRR codes generated through the application portal.

Submitting an application

  • The application form must be submitted along with the online SSCE scan results when submitting the online application. Applicants must download the acknowledgment form.


  • Interested applicants should go online and fill out an application at Please download and read the instructions provided on the website carefully. Applicants applying for NDA admission must apply to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (Jamb) and must select NDA as their first choice institution.
  • Such applicants are expected to appear for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
