US family car insurance costs an average of $1,547 per year for full coverage insurance. That’s less than $600 a year from the average national annual rate of $2,148.

American Family’s average annual rate is cheaper than other major insurers except State Farm and USAA, which only sell policies to active-duty and veteran military members and their families.
